Abstract
- Pure and composite sol-gel TiO2/ZnO films contained anatase or/and wurtzite crystalline phases.
- Composite TiO2/ZnO films exhibited red/blue shift of the absorption edge depending on films' composition.
- Good agreement between Forouhi-Bloomer and Tauc-Lorentz models was observed in computation of n and k, gap and thickness.
- Large amount of OH was beneficial for photoinduced hydrophilicity of composite and pure ZnO films.
- Superior photocatalytic NOx removal was observed in pure and TiO2 rich films.
