Abstract
⺠The reactivity of La2Ni0.9V0.1O4.15+δ with propane at 550 °C strongly depends on the amount of over-stoichiometric oxygen (= δ). ⺠When δ > 0.03 the main product is CO2, whereas selective conversion to propylene, ethylene and methane is achieved when 0.00 < δ < 0.03. ⺠Oxidation-reduction cycles in propane and oxygen at 550 °C are reversible and the material is stable. ⺠La2Ni0.9V0.1O4.15+δ is a promising option for selective oxidative dehydrogenation of propane with a dense membrane reactor, providing that the degree of over-stoichiometry is limited to 0.03 at the surface of the catalyst.
