Abstract
⺠1,2-Propanediol was oxidised to lactic acid with enhanced selectivity. ⺠AuPt/C catalysts are active at mild conditions. ⺠Amount of base and mass of catalyst can be significantly decreased. ⺠Air at atmospheric pressure can be used as the oxidant source.
