Abstract
During calcination of Au/TiO2 atomically adsorbed oxygen on Au or a Au surface oxide (Oirr) is formed, that is reacted off in a stoichiometric, non-catalytic CO oxidation reaction and thus doesn't contribute significantly to the continuous CO oxidation.
