Abstract
Gold as a modifier of Ir catalyst was studied in levulinic acid hydrogenation to γ-valerolactone. Differently from the case of Ru, the bimetallic Au-Ir catalyst showed a lower activity with respect to monometallic despite a higher selectivity.
