Abstract
⺠We studied the flow around a circular cylinder near a plane wall. ⺠A simple geometry has been used to isolate the jet-like flow between the wall and the cylinder. ⺠Three flow regimes have been found; far regime, intermediate regime and small gap regime. ⺠At small gap flow regime there are still only large scale vortices shed from the upper shear layer. ⺠The jet-like flow interacted with the upper shear layer vortices during their formation cycle.
