Abstract
- Oscillations in CO oxidation over Rh/Al2O3 are not founded upon redox bistabilities in the Rh phase.
- Oscillations in CO oxidation over Rh/Al2O3 do not directly involve any infrared observable carbonyl species.
- Atomic carbon, formed through CO dissociation by Rh, is suggested to lie at the heart of the oscillatory chemistry.
