Abstract
► Zn decreased both the rate of methanation and CH4 selectivity. ► Zn increased the surface residence time of active intermediates. ► The surface concentration of CO was largely unaffected by Zn. ► The effect of Zn on hydrocarbon formation decreased with increasing chain length.
