Abstract
⺠We tested reactivity of TiO2 nanocrystals on Au(1 1 1) substrate with 2-propanol. ⺠The nanocrystals were prepared by the TiAu surface alloy oxidation method. ⺠TiO2 nanocrystals and rutile(1 1 0) surface have comparable chemical properties. ⺠TiO2 nanocrystals exhibit significantly higher reactivity than rutile(1 1 0). ⺠Uniquely, acetone evolves from 2-propanol on nano-TiO2/Au(1 1 1).
