Abstract
⺠Gold nanoparticles (Au NPs) were supported on magnesium oxide. ⺠The formation of surface Au NPs was monitored by in situ UV-Vis-Mass technique. ⺠The material is active in the aerobic oxidation of alcohols without base co-catalyst. ⺠Commercially important monoterpenoids were obtained in good to excellent yields. ⺠The material also promotes the aerobic oxidative esterification of benzyl alcohol.
