Abstract
- Y-doped TiO2 has been synthesized by hydrothermal method.
- Ab-initio calculations were carried out for compensated/noncompensated doped systems.
- Doped TiO2 showed improved photocatalytic activity compared to bare TiO2.
- DFT based simulations reasonably explain the experimental observations.
