Tandem devices is also the chosen approach by organic photovoltaics in order to maximize the light harvesting. Subcells can either be connected in series (2T) or parallel (3T). Each design can benefit from certain issues. 2T connection offer higher achievable efficiencies for ideal donors´ bandgaps. Some material combinations yield however larger efficiencies in 3T configuration. Both designs can be transferred to a R2R fabrication line with different considerations.202
