Abstract
► Quantum dots (QDs) provide substantial harvesting of IR power. ► Charging of QDs enhances IR light harvesting and suppresses recombination losses. ► Selective doping of QDs strongly affects micro- and nanoscale potential profiles. ► Adequate doping prevents charge redistribution between QDs and pre-contact areas. ► Optimized charging of QDs significantly increases photovoltaic conversion.
