⺠The optical absorption of QDs/Au NPs composite enhanced. ⺠Transition in fluorescence, enhancement to quenching with Au NP concentration. ⺠The fluorescence enhancement due to modified excitation rate of QDs. ⺠Two distinctive states of QDs testified by double exponential decay lifetime. ⺠Competing factors, excitation rate, and quenching determine overall fluorescence.
