Abstract
In this paper, a vapor–liquid phase change model is proposed for volume-of-fluid (VOF) method in FLUENT. This model is suitable for the case in which both unsaturated phase and saturated phase are present. In this model: (1) the unsaturated-phase thermal conductivity λuns and specific heat Cp,uns are actual physical parameters; (2) the saturated-phase thermal conductivity λs and specific heat Cp,s are assumed as zero and Cp,uns, respectively; (3) the interfacial mass-transfer rate m˙s=−m˙uns=2λuns(∇αuns⋅∇T)/L. Finally, the accuracy of the vapor–liquid phase change model is verified by one-dimensional Stefan problem and two-dimensional film boiling problem.
