Abstract
⺠Convective heat and mass exchange of horticultural products is modelled with CFD. ⺠Focus is on exchange processes at the microscale (i.e. lenticels, cracks, droplets). ⺠CFD validation indicates a good performance of the RANS SST k-Ï turbulence model. ⺠Convective exchange is a function of coverage ratio, Reynolds number and source size. ⺠Microscale modelling is required for accurate convective exchange predictions.
