Abstract
This study presents the empirical correlations describing the lubricant side heat transfer and friction characteristics of the High Pressure Direction type steel offset strip fin pattern. A total of 36 samples containing approximately 523 data points are used in the regression analysis. The proposed heat transfer correlation can describe all test data within ± 10% with a mean deviation of 4.01% while the proposed friction correlation can describe 97.8% of all experimental data within ± 15% with a mean deviation of 5.68% in the low Reynolds number range of 30–500.
