Abstract
The study models pulsatile blood flow in the cardiovascular system employing the Navier–Stokes equation. Resulting partial differential equations are solved approximately for the flow field. Solutions obtained which compare favourably with previously reported studies, show an increase in the wall shear stress when the porosity of the medium is increased.
