Abstract
► This is the first LES study of the turbulent pipe flow with temporal acceleration. ► An initial delay followed by a subsequent rapid increase and a pseudo-steady state. ► Delays for turbulence production, redistribution, and radial propagation identified. ► Sweeps and ejections are related to turbulence production and radial propagation.
