Abstract
⺠We study hard compliant coatings, which can be used in practice. ⺠Deformation and velocity of surface moving under turbulent flow were calculated. ⺠Velocity of surface motion is comparable to velocity pulsations near the wall. ⺠This can be the reason for drag reduction on a compliant coating. ⺠Absorbed by coating energy is negligible part of energy, dissipated within the flow.
