Abstract
In the case of adherent animal cell cultures, mechanical stress is usually considered as the main limiting factor related to hydrodynamics. So, the spatial and temporal distribution of mechanical stress have been compared. The results show that the cells grown in the SUB bioreactor will be not only more frequently exposed to high mechanical stress, but also over a longer period.
