Abstract
The back side temperature response of a slab heated periodically in time and space at its front side is calculated from Fourier’s heat conduction law. Isotropic and temperature independent thermal diffusivity is assumed. Results in terms of amplitude and phase relations between the front side heat flux and back side temperature are given for a relevant range of nondimensional temporal frequencies and spatial wave numbers.
