Abstract
⸠Calculation of the concentration field near cells that deform during interaction. ⸠Factor accumulation increases directly with the deformed synaptic surface area. ⸠Order of magnitude increases in concentrations and signaling gradients can occur. ⸠Analytical expressions for the synaptic concentration are derived. ⸠The synaptic region cannot be properly analyzed without considering the entire cell surface.
