Abstract
⸠Atmospheric methane plasmas allow converting natural gas to higher value products. ⸠Methane plasma were modeled with a focus on kinetics and energy efficiency. ⸠The main kinetic pathways were identified. ⸠It was found that a high energy efficiency requires a high local gas temperature. ⸠Some criteria useful to improve the energy efficiency were proposed.
