► Mechanism model of cracking in SL-I furnace is set up using Kumar kinetics model. ► Key parameters affecting primary reaction coefficients of the model are determined. ► Compromising adjustment base on random searching algorithm is to optimize the coefficients of the primary reaction equation. ► Solution is proven effective and applicable by different feeds and conditions.
