Abstract
⺠Use of plug flow crystallization system to anti-solvent crystallization of benzoic acid from aqueous ethanol solutions. ⺠Stable operation was observed with rapid attainment of steady state. ⺠A simple initial screening methodology for potential systems for use in plug flow crystallizers is outlined. ⺠PAT was successfully utilized to monitor and characterize plug flow crystallizations in situ. ⺠Final CSD at fixed feed concentration was significantly altered by manipulating anti-solvent and feed flow rates.
