Abstract
► The continuous coprecipitation process of strontium by barium sulfate is studied. ► An innovative reactor/classifier is designed to optimise efficiency of this process. ► The advantages of this reactor are proved both experimentally and by modelling. ► Strontium decontamination factor and liquid-solid separation are greatly improved. ► This reactor represents an efficient device for industrial process intensification.
