Abstract
⺠We investigate the metastable zone width of ice in a binary sodium sulphate system. ⺠We show that nucleation is stochastic in nature for this system. ⺠This stochastic nature must be considered when determining the MSZW for a binary sodium sulphate system. ⺠MSZW is affected by solution volume but only to a certain threshold in a binary sodium sulphate system. ⺠Cooling rate of the solution also affects the MSZW in a binary sodium sulphate system.
