Emulsion crystallization of phenanthrene by supercritical fluid extraction of emulsions

► Crystallization of phenanthrene from oil in water emulsions has been investigated. ► Physical mechanisms involved in the process have been observed under the microscope. ► The effect of process parameters on the size of product particles has been studied. ► The solvent has been removed by supercritical fluid extraction of emulsions (SFEE). ► The analogies and differences of this process with oiling out have been explored.
