Abstract

The convective diffusion differential equation was solved for the condition of an upward laminar liquid film stream. This solution is based on the approximate approach developed in the boundary layer theory. The concentration profile in a laminar liquid film has been approximately described by cubic parabola for a short reactor. Equations for local and mean concentrations of gas dissolved in the liquid film have been given for the full range of possible velocity profiles in the liquid film. They have given a better correlation with the exact solution than the approximate solutions to have been known before.
