- Exergy based carbon fuel selection metrics are examined.
- Detailed process simulation results are reported for DME storage cycle.
- High storage density (∼6.2 GJ/m3) and efficiency (∼57%) are achieved for DME cycle.
- The potential of chemical energy storage in a sustainable economy is demonstrated.
