Abstract
A new diarylethene with a phenyl-linked rhodamine B unit was synthesized and its multiple fluorescence switching characteristic was investigated by the stimulation of chemicals and light. The diarylethene was found selective towards Cu2+ in acetonitrile/water binary solvent.
