Transient states and the role of excited state self-quenching of indoline dyes in complete dye-sensitized solar cells

Locally excited (LE) and charge transfer (CT) excited states of D149 dye are identified to participate in the electron injection and dye deactivation mechanisms. Self-quenching of dye excited states might be an important loss mechanism in DSSC, limiting electron injection efficiency.
