Abstract
- Li/Ni cationic disorder was used positively to prepare Ni-pillared LiCoO2.
- At high voltages Ni-pillared LiCoO2 showed higher specific capacity and better cyclic stability.
- Ni at Li sites support delithiated layered structures as pillars at high voltages.
