Abstract
- Time-dependent changes in AZ31 localised corrosion patterns characterised by SVET.
- Dark, dendritic corrosion features are cathodically activated compared to the intact surface.
- Several local anodes propagate simultaneously at the leading edges of corroded regions.
- Total local anode current increases in proportion to the area of exposed local cathode.
- Localised corrosion rates are insensitive to pH in the range 4 â¤Â pH â¤Â 10.
