Abstract
⺠Anodic electrochemical polymerization of 1-amino-anthraquinone produces a polymer with complex electrochemistry. ⺠Voltammetry shows features due to both a polyaniline-like backbone and the quinone/hydroquinone couple. ⺠Reduction of the quinone groups results in metastable trapping of the reduced state. ⺠Impedance measurements have shown that charge trapping results from the low conductivity of the reduced polyaniline-like backbone.
