Abstract
⺠All enamels significantly improve the corrosion performance of steel in Ca(OH)2 with chloride. ⺠Pitting corrosion of uncoated and ME-coated steel occurred at different chloride concentrations. ⺠Calcium silicate mixed in enamel increased the cohesive strength of ME coating. ⺠The increased pores in inner layer reduced the cohesive strength of DE coating. ⺠The electrochemical properties of enamel-coated steel are sensitive to thickness variation.
