Abstract
⺠We report a model of the cathode catalyst layer (CCL) in DMFC. ⺠The model assumes the electrochemical mechanism of MOR in the CCL. ⺠Part of the CCL at the membrane works as an anode. ⺠This result suggests a novel three-electrode cell design. ⺠The 3rd electrode converts the methanol in membrane into the useful current.
