Abstract
⺠A novel biomass particle sizing system using a piezoelectric sensor is proposed. ⺠The sensor protrudes into the particle flow in a pneumatic conveying pipeline. ⺠A model is developed to establish the relationship between particle size and the sensor signal amplitude. ⺠A prototype system has been assessed on a test rig with willow and miscanthus chips.
