Abstract
⺠The performance characteristics of a coal based synthetic JP-8 fuel were evaluated on an autothermal reformer (ATR). ⺠The synthetic JP-8 fuel was derived through the Fischer-Tropsch process, resulting in a predominantly paraffin based fuel. ⺠An ATR was operated under steam-to-carbon ratio of 2, varying oxygen-to-carbon ratios and varying fuel feeds. ⺠High reforming efficiencies, between 83.0% and 92.2%, were obtained.
