Abstract
⺠Tyre blended with a high ash coal is a proper fuel in AFBC for electricity generation. ⺠Tyre offers a high calorific power (38.82 MJ/kg) and a low mineral content (3.30%). ⺠Zinc recovery (until 95%) from tyre ashes is viable for secondary metal production. ⺠Zinc recovery from fly ash is always greater than from bottom. ⺠Temperature and leaching time favours the extraction of zinc in acid lixiviation.
