Abstract
► We implement two NOx models in a phenomenological diesel engine model. ► Diesel engine model provides good predictions of cylinder pressure and heat release. ► Mellor NOx model performs well for range of conditions with standard calibration. ► The Zeldovich NOx model requires constant recalibration for good predictions. ► Mellor NOx model performs better than the Zeldovich model for present applications.
