Abstract
⺠Air- and oxy-coal combustion in a 100 MWe boiler were investigated by computational modeling. ⺠Oxy-coal combustion with 28% O2 in oxidizer has wall heat flux similar to air-coal combustion. ⺠Char reactions are strongly associated with the swirling flame structure. ⺠Proportion of char gasified by CO2 and H2O significantly increases in oxy-coal combustion.
