Abstract
► Ductile metal encapsulation of coal samples allows for measuring CO2 uptake. ► No swelling corrections and Equation of State at high pressure needed. ► Comparison with manometric data showed reasonable agreement. ► Capsule and manometric method sensitive to errors in different pressure regimes. ► Remaining errors only significant if smaller than the direct effect of in situ stress on sorption.
