Abstract
⺠We investigate the influence of N2 and H2O dilution on methanol burning velocity. ⺠Chemical kinetics calculations of ul agree well with heat flux method measurements. ⺠For both diluents the chemical effect is negligible for diluents ratios below 20%. ⺠A correlation for the thermal effect of several diluents on ul is proposed. ⺠The temperature exponent α is shown to reach a minimum for Ï = 1.2.
