Abstract
► We model in-cylinder pressure oscillations due to knocking combustion. ► A novel and general approach is used in modeling pressure oscillations. ► The model derives from explicit integration of wave equation with a dissipation term. ► A generic spatial distribution of end-gas at knock onset can be assumed by the model. ► Time and frequency features of experimental pressure oscillations are well reproduced.
