												- Two flames are similar in shape, but the swirling IDF is much shorter.
- Swirl reduces flame length, strengths air/fuel mixing and enhances combustion.
- Radial heat flux distribution is M-shaped due to presence of swirl.
- Optimum nozzle-to-plate distance is shortened by swirl.
