Abstract
⺠Particle cloud extinction may limit chemical looping conversion of metal oxides. ⺠CuO has the lowest propensity to particle cloud extinction in syngas reduction. ⺠NiO has the highest propensity to particle cloud extinction in syngas reduction. ⺠Syngas mixtures with high CO content minimise the extinction of particle clouds.
