Abstract
► Two high temperature sulfur sorbents were studied in biomass-derived syngas. ► Both sorbents are very effective at H2S removal in dry syngas. ► In syngas with 45% steam, the sorbents still remove H2S but at reduced capacity. ► The H2S removal mechanism in dry syngas is conversion of the oxide form to sulfide. ► With steam, the H2S removal mode is surface chemisorptions.
