Abstract
⺠A thermodynamics analysis of the oxidative steam reforming of methanol. ⺠Water favors hydrogen production and the suppression of by-products. ⺠Oxygen addition lowers hydrogen yield significantly. ⺠Optimal conditions are 600 °C, H2O/MeOH ratio = 6.0-8.0 and O2/MeOH ratio = 0. ⺠The potential of methane formation at low temperatures is very high.
